A World’s Most Ethical Company and now a Fortune 500

Gallagher Bassett’s parent company, US-based Arthur J. Gallagher (AJG), has debuted on Fortune’s ‘Fortune 500 list’ for 2016.

This follows some impressive recognition for Gallagher this year that includes being named a World’s Most Ethical Company by Ethisphere Institute and a Winning “W” Company by 2020 Women on Boards.

This year’s Fortune 500 marks the 62nd running of the list. In total, Fortune 500 companies represent two-thirds of the U.S. GDP with $12 trillion in revenues, $840 billion in profits, $17 trillion in market value, and employ 27.9 million people worldwide.

“To say that Arthur J. Gallagher had a busy year is an understatement. In 2015, the Illinois-based insurance broker acquired 42 companies–15 of which were completed in the fourth quarter–with estimated revenues totalling $223 million. The company’s net revenue amounted to $5.4 billion” stated Fortune.
